TP-653 Residual Fuel Oil Total Sediment Tester ASTM D4870
TP-653 Residual Fuel Oil Total Sediment Tester is designed and manufactured in accordance with SH/T0701 and
SH/T0702 ,ASTMD 4870 Determination of Total Sediment in Residual Fuel Oil (Aging Method, Thermal Filtration
Method). This method is applicable to the determination of total sediment in residual fuel oil with viscosity less
than 55mm2/s at 100 ºC and distillate fuel oil mixed with residual components.
Sampling range for precision inspection: the maximum total sediment of residual fuel oil is 0.50% (m/m), and the
maximum total sediment of distillate fuel oil containing residual components is 0.40% (m/m)

instrument is widely used in the system of China Petroleum Fuel Oil Research Institute and Exit Entry Inspection

refineries in South China, and storage companies also use our instruments.
This instrument requires that the temperature of the sample should be kept at 100 ºC when filtering. The old
methods used steam insulation. This method is difficult to control the steam pressure, which is dangerous and
easy to scald people; Our products are electrically heated to ensure that the temperature of the sample during
filtering meets the standard requirements, and the oil sample can be filtered without solidification; At the same
time, the sealing property of the sample during vacuum filtration is ensured, and the filtration is accurate without
residue and vacuum leakage.
Main feature:
This instrument integrates Petrochemical SH/T0701 and SH/T0702 into one instrument, aging method and
thermal filtration method, which are all completed with one instrument. The quality level conforms to ISO10307-1and ISO10307-2. ASTM D4870
The instrument adopts imported glass fiber filter membrane, and the filtering and weighing are accurate without
error.
1. The instrument is an integral structure, the front part is the sample making part, and the back part is the circuit
control part.
2. Two samples can be tested at the same time, or parallel test can be conducted for easy operation.
3. The digital temperature controller is used to control the temperature. The temperature control accuracy can
reach ± 0.1 ºC. The temperature display is intuitive and the reading is accurate. The error caused by the aging of
the temperature sensor can also be adjusted.
4. Digital display timer is used for timing, and the timing can reach 99h99m99s.
5. The vacuum degree can reach 40KPa ± 2 KPa. The vacuum degree is precisely displayed by the pressure
gauge, and the vacuum pressure is regulated by the precision regulating valve
6. The aging bath is formed by metal bath mould, which is safe and environmentally friendly. The sample making
unit is operated by four holes. The panel is made of stainless steel, which makes the whole sample preparation
process clean and easy to clean, bringing great convenience to the operators.
7. The metal bath is heated by electric heating rod and controlled by solid state relay (the advantage of solid state
relay is that it has no obvious contact, belongs to soft control, has high safety factor and high precision).
8. The instrument adopts metal bath instead of steam generator, which is safer, simpler and more
environmentally friendly.
9. Liquid dropping: stirring rate: 200r/min, titration rate: l ± 0.05mL/min, titration capacity: 2.5mL ± 0.02mL.
