The asphalt storage stability tester is suitable for measuring the storage stability of various emulsified asphalts. Unless otherwise specified, the storage temperature of the emulsion is the room temperature when the emulsion is manufactured, and the storage time is 5d, or 1d if necessary.

4. Test procedures
1. Wash the stability test tubes with solvent (gasoline available), lotion and clean water and dry them in an oven with a temperature of 105ºC±5ºC. After cooling, plug the outlet of the upper and lower branch pipes with plugs.
2. About 300 mL of a uniform emulsified asphalt sample is filtered through a 1.18mm sieve into the sample container.
3. Stir the filtered emulsion sample with a glass rod and slowly pour it into the stable test tube, so that the liquid level reaches the 250mL mark on the tube wall. When injecting, it should be noted that no air bubbles are attached to the branch pipe. Then plug the orifice with a stopper.
4. Put the sealed stability test tube on the test tube rack and let it stand for 5 days and nights at room temperature. During the standing process, often observe whether the emulsion has stratification, precipitation or discoloration, etc., make a record and record the room temperature change (and temperature) within 5 days. If the produced emulsion is planned to be used up within 5 days, the samples for the storage stability test can also be left to stand for 1 day and night.
5. After standing, gently pull out the plug of the upper branch nozzle, and about 50g of the sample flow out from the upper branch nozzle and put it into an evaporation residue test container. Then unplug the stopper of the lower branch pipe and discharge all the samples above the lower branch pipe and flow into another container. Then fully shake the sample under the lower branch pipe, tilt the stability tube, and let the remaining sample in the tube flow out about 50g of the sample from the mouth of the lower branch pipe, and put it into the third weighed evaporation residue test container.
6. Weigh the mass of the upper and lower parts respectively, accurate to 0.2g, and then measure the content of evaporation residue PA and PB according to the method of "T0651-1993 Emulsified Asphalt Evaporation Residue Content Test".
The storage stability of emulsified asphalt is calculated according to the following formula, whichever is the value:

In the formula: SS ------ storage stability of the sample, %;
PA ------ Evaporation residue content of samples in the upper branch pipe after storage, %;
PB ------ Evaporation residue content of the sample in the lower branch pipe after storage, %.
5. Instruments and materials
1.1 Asphalt emulsification stability test tube: made of glass, with upper and lower branch openings, and the openings are equipped with rubber stoppers or cork stoppers.
1.2 Sample container: small aluminum pot or porcelain evaporating dish, more than 300ml.
1.3 Electric stove or hot plate.
1.4 Balance: the amount of feeling is not more than 0.1g.
1.5 Sieve: The sieve hole is 1.18 mm.
1.6 Others: thermometer, thermometer, glass rod, solvent, lotion, etc.
